A Super Colorful Dog Themed Birthday Party for Hudson
ByParty Recap
For my son's 6th Birthday, we had a puppy pawty! It was just a small dinner with family but I still wanted to make a fuss with a party table when he got home from school. That way it feels extra special!
Above the party table, I hung some banner flags. Since I was just sticking these to the wall, all I did was blu-tac the flags. Then for effect, I hung string behind it so that it looked the part. I had an 8×10" sign. I created my own message “Come sit, stay – Hudson's 6th Birthday party”.
I'm not much of a baker so I used printable cake centrepieces/toppers on a storebought cake. Plus some cute party puppy cupcake toppers for the "pup-cakes".
Here are some of the party food ideas I came up with (plus a couple I thought were clever but didn't end up using):
Chew Sticks – licorice strips or Haribo Balla Stixxs
Pup Corn – popcorn
Scoop a Poop – chocolate logs or fun-size Twix
Pawtato Chips – potato chips
Pupcakes – cupcakes
Pawty Cookies – cookies or macarons
Puppy Chow
Hot Dogs (or a hot dog station)
I also used printable wrappers on Hershey bars, wrapped water bottles in puppy-themed wrappers and attached gift tags to the favor bags.
I kept the rest of the decorations pretty simple since there is so much colour to this theme. I have more info (including pics and video) over on my blog if you want to know more: https://www.avisualmerriment.com/party/a-super-colorful-dog-themed-birthday-party-for-hudson.html
