A Roaring 4th Birthday

My Zachosaurus is obsessed with dinosaurs! Since he could talk he could say Pachycepholosaurus. ;-) So for his 4th birthday we had to have it at the NC Museum of Life & Science where they have a dinosaur trail and fossil dig site (aka my son's favorite place).

I bought plastic paleontologist hats and had the kids decorate them with foam stickers. The staff at the museum walked the kids through creating their very own fossil with plaster. I also had big buckets of sand with dinosaur skeleton fossils hiding inside, so they could all dig for their own dino and keep it as a party favor.

After the party was over, many of our friends walked the dinosaur trail and enjoyed the rest of the museum!

• What People Ate

  Snacks such as Bugles (dinosaur claws) and pretzel sticks (dinosaur bones) as well as healthier treats of pineapple chunks with dinosaur toothpicks and carrot sticks in ranch cups.

• What People Drank

  Foarming volcano punch made with fruit punch, Sprite and sherbert and swamp water.

• Desserts

  A blue Stegosaurus cake!

• Party Favors

  Kids got to keep their paleontologist hats they decorated, rock candy, and a dinosaur they excavated out of the sand.

• Activities / Games

  Digging for dinosaurs, making fossils with shells and plaster, decorating paleontologist hats with foam dinosaur stickers.
