Party Recap

My husband loves Paris, I mean he really LOVES Paris. His dream is to live there for an entire summer someday. This led me to this great idea for New Year’s Eve. I know, we were talking about Valentine’s, but we got invited to a wonderful party for New Year’s Eve, so I figured I would need to change it up and move my plans to Valentine’s Day. This idea all began when I saw a lighted Eiffel Tower for yard decor at Home Depot a couple of Christmases ago. I really wanted it, not for any particular party, but I wanted it! I couldn't justify the price or even the space it would take for storage, so I just let it go. This past December I saw a smaller, and actually prettier lighted Eiffel Tower at Michaels. I had my handy 50% off coupon, the price wasn't too bad, and the box was actually pretty small. I went home with my trophy! I was planning this pretty silver and white wintery Paris themed New Year’s Eve and then a party invitation arrived, so I switched this up to Valentine’s day! I added some puffy little hearts to the Eiffel Tower, and I have glittered a bottle of Champagne in red. The table was set with a silver and white tablecloth, silver sequined placemats, red chargers, white and silver dinner plates with matching bread plates and mercury glass-looking salad plates. Even in Florida it can get a little cool in the evening, so I tucked fur throws on the chairs. Even though I am not the Paris lover, I fell rather hard for these Eiffel Tower Champagne flutes from Z Gallerie. I used this frame on the table and set the food service platters inside of it. This is one of those great Ikea Ung Drill frames. I have used it so many times in so many different ways, but I painted it silver for my Winter Wonderland tablescape and was so happy with how it looks in silver, I was anxious to use it again. It dresses up a table so much. I had this little Eiffel Tower which used to house a clock, to add a little more of Paris to the table. This was a lovely and romantic Parisian themed dinner for two!
