Party Recap

One of the first parties I ever styled was for a little girl celebrating her 10th birthday and what an event this was! This Mad Hatter's Tea Party was simply layers and layers of exquisite party styling, from the oversized playing cards, giant foil pink flamingo balloons, to the vintage tea cups hanging from the rafters over the dining table which itself was lined with vintage chair's courtesy of our birthday girl's grandmother.

Floral garlands, birdcages filled with roses, fun pink and blue table covers with black and white spotted table runners, silver candelabra's, and party-ware from 'Talking Tables - Truly Alice' range combined to make this event space truly magical. An oversized ornate mirror also formed the centrepiece of the dessert bar where a whimsical 'Alice in Wonderland' inspired birthday cake took centre stage amongst the Jabberwocky macaroons, the 'Queen of Hearts Tarts', chocolate coated strawberries, large swirly lollipops, ornate teapots with matching cups and saucers and oh so much more!

Complimenting the styling was the Mad Hatter himself - who came to wreak havoc amongst the young guests at this whimsical party. From the moment the guests the arrived, the children didn't know which way to look - and the Mad Hatter certainly kept them on their toes! As the children entered the party space, there sat the Mad Hatter, the Queen of Hearts, the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat whilst our birthday girl took centre stage as our 'Alice in Wonderland'. All of the characters appeared frozen in time as the guests piled into the space, until 'Alice' touched the Mad Hatter on the shoulder - instantly bringing the characters (and the mayhem!) to life.

This was truly one of those 'once in a lifetime' events that we know the family are still talking about, nearly 2 years after the party...
