Party Recap
Girls DONUT just want to have fun! They want a night full of donuts with friends too! Our sweet daughter was turning a DOZEN years old and wanted a donut theme sleepover. What better way to celebrate your last year as a preteen than at a hotel suite with sweet friends in pajamas?!
INVITATIONS: When creating the invitations, I aimed for something attractive and distinctive. Utilizing my creativity, I designed the invitation on Vistaprint.com, incorporating a teal blue sprinkle border and using the theme colors for the information. The invitations were sized at 5.5”x4” for a neat look. To present them, I carefully placed a plush donut inside brown bakery boxes, scattered packing peanuts and colorful shredded crinkle paper inside to imitate sprinkles, ensuring they were presented as donuts being delivered.
ATTIRE: For professional photos, my daughter dressed in a black crop top beneath a long sleeve cream plaid shirt. To complete the outfit, she paired her black leggings with customized Converse shoes that coordinated perfectly with the cream plaid shirt. Her hair was styled in a braided halo with two curled strands framing her face. During the sleepover, she wore a black t-shirt with a pink donut in the middle that said DONUT SQUAD in white letters. Her black pajama pants were decorated with colorful donuts, and she had matching black socks with donuts on them too. Big sister wore a similar shirt, but hers was heather gray. Her shirt had black words instead of white. She paired it with black leggings and gray socks. I wore the same shirt, but mine was mint green with black wording. I wore black leggings, and the shirt matched my mint green donut socks. Dad wore a black t-shirt featuring Homer Simpson daydreaming of a donut. The wording underneath the graphic of Homer read MMM…Donuts! He wore black jeans and black tennis shoes.
The DONUT SQUAD guests all had pink t-shirts and their wording was in black. Each girl had black leggings and pink donut socks that matched their shirts.
DECORATIONS: As the guests arrived, they were welcomed by a sign on the door that said Welcome to Kaiylah’s Donuts and Pajamas Sleepover! The sign had Kaiylah’s age, 12, displayed in the center of a donut shape. Inside the hotel suite, a donut photo backdrop adorned one of the walls, adding to the festive atmosphere. The Happy Birthday donut banner was encircled by a donut balloon garland. Inside the sitting room, the table was draped with a donut tablecloth. On the table, a variety of decorations were carefully placed: Donut popcorn containers; Funfetti donut birthday cake adorned with donut sugar cookies and teal drip on top with sprinkles; Sweet donut plates, napkins cups, and teal plastic utensils; Dunkin Donuts; Donut sugar cookies; and Donuts and confetti party favor bags. The room where the Donut Squad slept was beautifully decorated. Each bed featured decorative pillows adorned with mini plush donuts and sprinkled with donut confetti. Donut garland banners adorned the headboards of the beds. I placed a special plush donut pillow on the birthday girl's bed. Delicate sheer curtains with twinkling string lights completed the decorations of the room.
