Party Recap

Girls DONUT just want to have fun! They want a night full of donuts with friends too! Our sweet daughter was turning a DOZEN years old and wanted a donut theme sleepover. What better way to celebrate your last year as a preteen than at a hotel suite with sweet friends in pajamas?!

INVITATIONS: For the invitation, I wanted something appealing and unique! I used my creative skills and designed the invitation on Vistaprint.com. I added the teal blue sprinkle border and provided the information in the theme colors. The invitations measured 5.5”x4”. I placed the invitations in brown bakery boxes. I then scattered packing peanuts and colorful shredded crinkle paper inside to imitate sprinkles. A plush donut was placed in each box. I wanted the invitations to be presented like donuts being delivered.

ATTIRE: For professional photos, my daughter wore a black crop top covered with a long sleeve cream plaid shirt. Her black leggings were complemented with customized Converse shoes that matched the cream plaid shirt. She wore her hair braided in a halo with two pieces of cured hair hanging in the front.
At the sleepover, she wore a black t-shirt with a pink donut centered between the words. The words were in white and read DONUT SQUAD. Her black pajama pants had colorful donuts on them. She also had matching black donuts socks.
Big sis put on the same shirt, except hers was heather gray. Her wording was in black instead of white. She wore black leggings with matching gray socks.
I wore the same shirt, but mine was mint green with black wording. I wore black leggings, and the shirt matched my mint green donut socks.
Dad wore a black t-shirt with Homer Simpson daydreaming of a donut. The wording underneath the graphic of Homer read MMM…Donuts! He wore black jeans and black tennis shoes.
The DONUT SQUAD guests all had pink t-shirts and their wording was in black. Each girl had black leggings and pink donut socks that matched their shirts.

DECORATIONS: Upon arrival, the guests were greeted with a sign on the door that read Welcome to Kaiylah’s Donuts and Pajamas Sleepover! Her age, 12, was centered in the donut on the welcome sign. When the guests entered the hotel suite, there was a donut phot backdrop displayed on the wall. The Happy Birthday donut banner was bordered by a donut balloon garland. In the sitting room, the table was covered with a donut tablecloth. The table was decorated with the following items: Donut popcorn containers; Funfetti donut birthday cake adorned with donut sugar cookies and teal drip on top with sprinkles; Sweet donut plates, napkins cups, and teal plastic utensils; Dunkin Donuts; Donut sugar cookies; and Donuts and confetti party favor bags.
The room where the Donut Squad slept was beautifully decorated. Each bed had decorative pillows with mini plush donuts and donut confetti spread throughout the bed. Donut garland banners hung on the headboards. I added a plush donut pillow to the bed where the birthday girl slept. There were also sheer curtains around the room embellished with string lights.

THANK YOU CARDS: I purchased a customized donut thank you card from Etsy.com. The card was made of cardstock and measured 6” x 4½ “ in diameter. It was shaped like a doughnut with blue icing and brown and white sprinkles. The message I requested read, “I hope you had a HOLE bunch of fun! I appreciate the ‘suite’ gifts. Thanks a DOZEN for celebrating with me! Your sweet friend, Kaiylah.” The “O” in DOZEN was an image of a donut. They were very cute and brown envelopes were included.
