Party Recap

50 years!! Can you say that does not happen very often. My parents celebrated 50 wedding anniversary years together. 5 children, 14 grandchildren. My siblings and I planned this for almost a year without them even knowing. They were told the morning of the party for fear that they may flee if they knew about the party.
50th anniversary is Golden, so I kept the golden theme throughout. Luck was that the hall had beautiful golden walls and warm wood beams. It truly was cozy, romantic and elegant. Ivory table linens and chair covers with light gold runners and chair sashes. A strip of ivory lace completed the look down the center table. Spray painted coffee jars and wine bottles filled with ivory florals graced each table along with an spray painted "H" symbolizing my parents last name. Sets of 3 cylinders either had floating candles or a ball of boxwood towering over. Ferraro Roche for each guest at the place setting.
At the guest book table we opted for a handmade sign out of wood with an "H" painted on for guests to sign, along with wethers original candies. My moms favorite. I secretly borrowed my moms wedding dress and had it displayed for all to see. Only a piece of lace had let go. It was a beautiful gown and now I wish I would have wore it to my own wedding.
The dessert table was mostly made of up of my dad's favorite.
Assortment of Pie and tarts and cupcakes for the kids. We opted out of the anniversary cake and made it more personal with my dads favorite.
It was a beautiful day to celebrate such a wonderful accomplishment and only hope to reach such a milestone.
