Watermelon Agua Fresca Recipe

How about a refreshing watermelon agua fresca to cool you down this summer? Aqua frescas are traditional fruit drinks served all over Mexico.

Ingredients

  • 1 small seedless watermelon cubed
  • ½ tablespoon honey
  • 1 cup water
  • Ice
  • Juicer or blender if a blender is used, you may want to strain the juice to remove the pulp
  • Star Cookie Cutter optional
  • Juice from 2 Mexican limes optional
  • Mint leaves for garnish optional
  • Thinly sliced lime for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Using a juicer (or a blender and a strainer), juice watermelon cubes.
  • Pour juice in a large pitcher, then add honey, lime juice, water and ice, then stir.
  • Serve over ice and garnish with a watermelon star, mint or lime slice.

Notes

I served mine in mason jars with cute straws.
