Diwali is an important festival for Hindus. The name of festive days as well as the rituals of Diwali vary significantly among Hindus, based on the region of India. In many parts of India,[11] the festivities start with Dhanteras, followed by Naraka Chaturdasi on second day, Diwali on the third day, Diwali Padva dedicated to wife–husband relationship on the fourth day, and festivities end with Bhau-beej dedicated to sister–brother bond on the fifth day.

The banner was made on 4x4 inch white chipboard pieces. I hand stamped the background swirls with metallic gold acrylic paint. I hand stamped the letters with red acrylic paint. I strung the banner with a rich dark pink ribbon and used red-gold and dark pink for the bows.I antiqued the edges of each piece with black and gold ink to give it a vintage look. The 10 foot long paper garland was made with red and dark pink 2 inch card stock circles and I used 1.5 inch metallic gold card stock circles between each to really make a statement!! I take the shapes and machine sew them together with sturdy white thread leaving excess at each end to make hanging easy!! Once this years celebration is over you can easily wrap the banner up and the garland up and put it away until next years Diwali season!! This set will become your yearly "go to" decorating centerpiece!
