Zephyr is in love with Coco and of course this was a great opportunity to explore many areas of our Hispanic heritage. We decorated with many influences of dia de los muertas with our little alter for Hector (he worked so hard to be on the ofrenda) and some fun and festive lotteria decorations. We put a lot of hard work into our parties so a majority of what you see is DIY from the large painted paper flowers to the hand painted guitar. Mom is a boss at pastries and she made every desert as well as the food.
What People Ate
All home made taco bar Carne Asada, chicken, three salsas made by grandpa (the watermelon strawberry one was amazing), sweet corn, and my mother in law’s rice and sauce.
What People Drank
Horchata, mint water, Jarritos, Jamaica, and mango pineapple juice.
a fruit bar, strawberry crema cups, a chocolate fountain, chocolate cupcakes with Swiss frosting, fresh strawberry and lemon cake, and a ton of pan dulce and assorted sweets.
Zephyr’s picked some capes, sticky toys, hopping frogs, and other small toys and candies.
Activities / Games
We had a large sugar skull piñata I forgot to photograph.
