Party Recap

Before my sons fifth birthday I got him the Willy wonka and the chocolate factory movie. I always thought the 1974 film was cuter and my son agreed for months he watched it over and over begging me to give him a chocolate factory like in the movie for his birthday. So there it was the theme. I decided on fun bright colors but used mostly gold and purple and Brown.I first got gold paper from Michaels and made the golden tickets invitations and I used Brown paper to make the envelopes, to give the idea of chocolate bars when received in the mail. I later heard the kids and adults, lol were excited by them. I drew a large Willy wonka that greeted the guests outside our door with a drawn wonka gate. Inside I had the movie on so those who never saw it could. And I had lots of balloons, some tied together to look like everlasting gobstoppers,I used balloons to make lots large candy I had allover the place and I made a wonka contract all our guest signed when they entered.I had a couple of boxes I drew the wonka bar logo on and different sections around the house with drawn scenes and quotes from the movie. I made a piniata, a pin the fudge in Augustus gloop mouth poster game, blueberry balloon juicing game, and a fun wonkavision photobooth that all the guests took part of . I even had the kids make snowflake ornaments from recycled water bottles as Christmas was around the corner. And I made a lot of balloon animals.... As you can see I wanted to keep the kids bussy ;-)for the dessert table i let my son design his birthday cake this year and he kept it simple. I also added two colorful topiary to the table with cupcakes, mixed fruit, jello, other cakes, and donuts. My mom catered the food which was amazing. As favors I found adorable purple mini bags from the dollar store and just painted my sons initials on them and added a brown thank you tag and they were filled with toys and a willy wonka party is not a party without tons of Willy wonka candy. Everything came out great and my son still talks about what an awesome party he had.
