Party Recap
My girls' were turning 2 and 5 and we decided to throw a circus/carnival party. A friend has a business selling vintage pieces so we added in some of her elements for a vintage feel birthday party!
Party Highlights
-
What People Ate
We decided on a gourmet hot dog bar with all the fixings and a couple of "featured" hot dogs like a Chicago Dog and all the ingredients for that type of hot dog listed in a frame. We had cotton candy, popcorn, fruit and chips.
-
What People Drank
The kiddos had water and lemonade it was HOT!! For the adults there was lemonade, iced tea and Cotton Candy martinis!!!
-
Desserts
For dessert we had to have a fun cake. I make cakes as a side job and think we achieved the fun part ;) We also had a dessert bar with circus tent cookies, strong man dumbells (marshmallows on a stripey straw), Ringmaster mustaches (both chocolate mustaches and gummy mustaches), clown noses (red cherry candy balls), circus peanuts and more!
-
Party Favors
For favors I made a party mix of kettle corn and M&M's and put them in some clear boxes I ordered online.
-
Activities / Games
To follow the vintage theme we stuck with some good old carnival games. Ring toss, knock over the can, fishing for ducks, a photo booth and a face painter/balloon artist.
-
Budget
I don't want to know ;) Although I did a lot of the decorations and desserts myself the party still adds up!!!
