Party Recap

When the creators of Turkey on the Table reached out to partner for an upcoming FEED Supper they were hosting, I was immediately impressed with their story. Their mission is to instill gratitude, thankfulness and giving, throughout our community and homes across the nation. Their commitment is to help provide meals with each product sold, through Feeding America, Their goal for the FEED Supper, was simple. To gather their friends and community leaders to help continue to fight hunger, and to work towards their goal of reaching 1 million meals donated. I knew immediately that I was all in, and I couldn’t wait to get started planning and kick off the holiday season with a bang.

For me, when planning and designing an event, there is an organic cohesiveness that begins to take shape. I was inspired by the Kimberly Williams Paisley, paisley print feather that she made exclusively for the Turkey on the Table holiday season. The paisley print detail complemented the gorgeous red barn backdrop and lush greenery in the backyard of the private home where the event was held. The Autumn colors on the feather cardstock set the color story that was found throughout the event.

A generous team of creatives was exactly what this event needed next, and boy was it an incredible group. To see so many industry partners come together to produce an unforgettable evening, was truly something else. Lifted Balloons had a burst of Autumn colors cascading down from the old red barn. Elsie Green provided vintage, one of a kind pieces; rich green vintage canning jars, brass candlesticks and silver mismatched flatware. All which really gave the tabletop character and charm. Branches & Blooms brought texture and more color with her gorgeous floral arrangements; including dahlias the size of your hand, pomegranates, figs pumpkins and harvested persimmons. Luxe moss green velvet linens from Napa Valley Linens draped down to the grass, almost matching perfectly. The final touch was incorporating the paisley feather, that was the original inspiration for the table. I decided to use it for the place cards, with calligraphy by Bright Room Studio and of course, a couple of turkeys completed the tablescape.

As an event planner, there isn’t anything much better than the moment just before guest arrival. The countless hours of planning, emailing and day of logistics quickly become a blur as every thought-out detail is in its place. The table is set, the candles are lit. The most over the top cheese and charcuterie grazing table was ready for guests to enjoy, by Danville Cheese. Grayson Cellar wine was chilled and ready to be served out of the most unique vintage mobile bar.

Soon enough, everyone was enjoying the evening, around the table filled with friendship, gratitude and generosity. They were kept warm with cozy blankets, enjoyed their dinner under the stars, and most importantly doing it all for the greater good. Thank you, Turkey on the Table, for feeding our souls with gratitude and feeding families in need with your generosity. As I look through all the gorgeous moments Megan Gery Photography captured, I have so much appreciation for the remarkable talent this event brought to the table. Knowing that this FEED Supper raised funding to provide over 26,000 meals through Feeding America, is priceless.
