Party Recap

My daughters were so excited about the My Little Pony movie coming out that we made My Little Pony the theme for my eldest girl’s birthday party. She’s not normally a girly-girl, but no one can resist those cute and colorful ponies from Ponyville!
I wanted there to be plenty of fun My Little Pony party activities to keep everyone entertained, so I picked up some party supplies at Walmart and set to work! First, I set up a “Cutie Mark” station with My Little Pony temporary tattoos. The girls had so much fun sticking on their MLP tattoos, and all you need is a cup of water and paper towels to apply them. It’s super easy and fun!
For our next My Little Pony party game, I broke out the Pinkie Pie Pinata! I stuffed the pinata with tons of fun size candy and little My Little Pony party favors. I also picked up My Little Pony goodie bags for the kids to use to gather up all the treats. Plus, the My Little Pony pinata was pull-string style, so I didn’t have to worry about anyone getting whacked in the eye! All the kiddos seemed to enjoy the random surprise of loot dropping out with the tug of a string, so I think we’re going to stick with pull-string pinatas from now on ;-)
The My Little Pony party ideas don’t stop there! I hid a bunch of plastic diamond ring party favors around the house and had the girls “Hunt for Rarity’s Gems!” It’s basically like an Easter egg hunt – everyone looks high and low for the hidden jewels and stashes them in their goodie bags. The winner of the My Little Pony game got a king size candy bar! YUM!
I needed some time to get the birthday cake and ice cream ready to serve, so I had some My Little Pony themed coloring pages printed out to keep the little ones busy. I dug up the pencils and crayons so kids to color with, then they got to take their work of art home at the end of the day. I like having lots of stuff for guests to take home, whether it’s My Little Pony favors or DIY ideas. It just feels so special to give them goodies to keep as a thank-you for coming to the birthday party.
So for all the birthday cake and other yummies, I use these adorable My Little Pony party plates, napkins, and cups. The girls loved seeing Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle on the table (I loved that it was all disposable so I could toss it out after lunch was over, hehe). I also arranged some My Little Pony party blowers and party hats on top of the table, just for a little extra decoration. It looked so sweet and made everything feel a little bit more festive.
