Party Recap

I wanted to make my little pumpkin's party as easy on myself as possible so I went with a Halloween theme since his birthday is in October...the first week in October, but October no less. I actually decided the venue last year when we attended a friend's son's party and I saw how easy it was and how much FUN the kiddos had at Pumpkin Station, the local pumpkin patch! As far as the styling, I went to a few different stores after season and bought pretty much all of their Halloween decor at 60% off. Although I had the entire year to plan I didn't start until about 2 weeks before, which for me is probably better because if I have time I will try to take on every little project I can. I already had the cute little favor boxes so I just grabbed some shredded raffia in orange, black and cream and stuffed it in the boxes with cute Halloween themed goodies I had collected. I finished off the boxes with the adorable embellishments I got in one of those party boxes Michael's has. I don't usually buy the all in one party kits but I really loved the design and figured I wouldn't find anything less expensive or half as cute anywhere else. And did I mention I wanted to keep things simple? Although I didn't use everything from the kit, or in the way they suggested, I was able to have a coordinated party at less than half the cost and I was able to put it together in a few weeks. With the help of my sister, nieces and an awesome friend, we set up in less than an hour and everything looked really cute!

We had built-in entertainment with it being at the pumpkin patch. The kiddos got bracelets so they could ride unlimited rides so everyone was worn out by the end of the party...including the birthday boy and his big sister who both napped for 3 1/2 hours after the party. I threw in a few "just because they're cute" pics:) Enjoy!

Since it was at the pumpkin patch the entertainment was built in, the kiddos each got bracelets so they could ride unlimited rides, visit the petting zoo and check out the pumpkins. We also had a little Jack-o-Lantern toss in the party tent but the kiddos were too busy with everything else that I'm not sure many played.

Party Helpers

  • Sweet Pop Shop

    Cake Pop Designer

Heidi is extremely talented and saved me when I discovered my usual designer couldn't take my order one week before the party! She made the most adorable and delicious (from what I heard since they were gobbled up before I could try one:) ghost and pumpkin cake pops. They arrived the day before the party and all in perfect condition which was amazing considering we've been having a heatwave. I highly recommend her!

  • Pretty Plain Janes

    Graphic Designer

Brandy did an excellent job on the invitation! Since I already had the decor, I needed to find something that coordinated. Brandy's Halloween-themed card was exactly what I was looking for. Her turnaround was incredible, I waited less than a week from when I placed my order.

  • Sarah & Colleen

    Sister & Friend

My sister helps me with all of my parties and she has the best attitude when I'm bossing her around...I'm the older sister and that's what we do. She also served as my photographer this time and I think she did a pretty good job. She is the best!
Colleen is such a great friend! She showed up to the party an hour early even though she has two young kiddos of her own and made sure everything looked great and was finished on time. I owe it to both of them that Lawson's party was seamless.
