Party Recap

All kids wore camo & were divided into Team Jace & Team Si as they arrived. Kids decorated marshmallow shooters (made with PVC for about $1 each) with DD stickers, then played relay games with duck/hunting themes.

    Paper bags cut down to shorter size filled w mini-marshmallows & tied with camo ribbon & marshmallow gun that they decorated

  • Activities / Games

    Camo clothes relay, duck feet relay, straw relay (use a straw to suck up DD images on card stock & drop into cup), peeps on spoons relay, shoot marshmallows into metal buckets relay (kids each shoot 3, team with most in bucket wins), & shoot marshmallows at duck decoys (cardstock paper decoys worth points based on size-bigger the decoy, fewer points. Team with most points wins)

  • Budget

    Venue -free, cake & cupcakes $75, marshmallow guns & favor bags $2 each, $ for paper goods, drinks & printing

  • What People Ate

    Cake & drinks in camo colored solo cups

  • Best Moment

    Taking a pic of each kid dressed as a duck commander during the clothes relay-- pics used later for thank you notes

    Phyllis was great! She made the fondant covered Si cake & 24 oversized camo cupcakes (half were brown/green/white camo & half were pink/hot pink/white camo- google how to make them). Each cupcake had a fondant sculpted duck decoy! http://Find her on Facebook

    My baker made the ducks! They were fondant covered rice crispy treat, that were carved & airbrushed. She is amazing!

    Did you make Uncle Si fondant figure? If so, did you hand paint the fondant for the camouflage details, etc? Out of all the cakes I've seen for DD, this is the best Uncle Si ever! I also love all the party ideas!

    My baker made him from Fimo. He was the only item that was not edible. She tried making him from fondant, but he wasn't as detailed as she wanted. The bonus was my daughter got to keep him! Thank you! It was a fun party!
