JJ's Real Life Minecraft 8th Birthday Bash

The idea behind this party was to play "real life minecraft" as JJ would say. Guests arrived to boxes painted grey in the front yard. These were the stone blocks that the kids were to buld a life size structure. this portion went on much longer then I anticipated. Next we moved to the backyard to mine for the supplies to make our weapons. We buried lego blocks in a kiddie pool for the minig, and made a crafing table out of a cardboard box. Once everyone has crafted their sword and their tee shirt, the fun began. We set up a creeper obstacle course, using green star shaped balloons as the creepers with spray painted faces. Next, we had ghast races along the clothesline. We took a break for minecraft cake and themed food, then finally, we defeated the enderdragon pinata! Fun time for everyone!
