Party Recap

Back in 2017 when it was 20 years since Harry Potter was first published we had a Harry Potter afternoon tea and activity celebration for my son Flynn and three of his friends.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Broomsticks, Whomping Willows, 3 headed dogs, golden snitches, House Points, Paresltongue sandwiches, Basilisk bites, Gryffindor Bites, Dobby cookies, Slytherin Snakes.

  • What People Drank

Magical House Colour Drinks (coloured lemonade) - colour revealed with a spell.

  • Activities / Games

The children loved playing Quidditch. We only used one hoop and each child had a broom and a ball as the quaffle and a snitch. Colour Changeoramus spell - the children came up with the name for the spell. This was for their drink. I had paper cups with a drop or two of food colouring (gel type) in the bottom (each cup had a different house colour). Then the cup was filled with ice (obscuring the food colouring), the children waved their wands and cast the spell, then tipped in the clear lemonade, their spell changing the colour of the lemonade to a house colour. They thought this was magical. Casting spells - Stupefy being their favourite. Watching the first Harry Potter movie.
