Happy Campers!

Our two boys have birthdays only 8 days apart so we usually do their parties together. This year was so much fun! The camping theme was great because both boys are really into the outdoors. First, they had their friends over for a party and the older ones spent the night for a campout! The hubby was in charge of that part. I was sitting comfortably in my recliner at 10pm that night, exhausted from wrangling about 17 six and ten year olds! (The hubby just loves my ideas..)

For the friend party, we enjoyed a scavenger hunt/nature walk through the grandparents’ field, we decorated our own cupcakes with things like deer droppings (choc. covered pretzels), bear poop (m&ms), s’more starters (mini marshmallows), sticks (pretzels), etc. and of course, the kiddos devoured some s’mores!

One of the best things about this theme is that most everything was FREE! Yep. FREE! We used lots of sticks, firewood, pinecones, seed pod thingies, tissue paper, paper stars, card board, flashlights, binoculars, etc.
