Party Recap

I am a mother of triplets (Mia, Mirko and Farah) who turned one year old. We celebrated their birthday in our family home,on a warm sunny automn day, surrounded by all those who love them.

We chose the "Circus" theme, but decided to stay away from the traditional colors and chose, instead, red, yellow, turquoise and green apple. These were used in all decorations: Flag banners, paper flowers, chinese lanterns, printables (invitation, cupcake toppers, favor tags, food and drink labels - which I designed), and piñata, all made by myself.

It was an amazing, unforgettable day.

Party Highlights

  • Desserts

We designed the dessert table to be colorful and fun. The cake was inspired by a design by Pink Cake Box. The flavors included: vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream and dulce de leche with almonds, and chocolate cake with dark chocolate mousse and dulce de leche with oreos. It was made by a close friend of mine and decorated by myself. We also served vanilla chocolate chip cupcakes with vanilla buttercream on top, sugar cookies decorated with royal icing and an assortment of traditional Argentinian candies, including chocolate covered mints and "bananita dolca" (a banana foam cookie covered in dark chocolate, which is a staple at children's parties), as well as M&Ms, marshmallows, meringue cookies, and popcorn. To accompany all these sweets, we served chocolate milk in vintage milk bottles, which everyone adored!

  • Activities / Games

Most kids were 2 years old, so we rented games for them to play with, including slides, see-saws, and cars. We privileged their parent's peace of mind by making sure that everything was age appropriate and safe.

  • Best Moment

Undoubtedly, the blowing of the candles. While all guests sang the happy birthday, the babies were screaming, greeting and waving to the guests, clapping and laughing. They truly enjoyed it!

  • What People Ate

We had a finger food buffet that included: vegetable rolls, chicken rolls, Tail of rump accompanied by different sauces (criolla, vitel thoné, and olives), an assortment of breads, and 3 different pickled sauces (escabeche) made of aubergines, chicken and vegetables. All food was prepared by my family and a dear friend.

  • What People Drank

Sodas and mineral water for the children, and an assortmentf beers for the adults

  • Most Touching Moment

You may notice that, during the blowing of the candles, the babies wore a t-shirt with a little "Nemo" on it. This is because our babies arrived after a long struggle with infertility, during which we used to say that we were "finding nemo" (the movie was translated into Spanish as" looking for Nemo"): finding our baby, finding a family. And we found them, they came into our lives to make us all incredibly happy. So, even though it was not theme related, we wanted them to wear these t-shirts because they are part of their history, of how they came to be.

They are not original vintage milk bottles. I recycled glass bottles of tomato purée that I bought in my local supermarket, in Buenos Aires.
