Enchanting Little Red Riding Hood Party
ByParty Recap
Our little girl, Ivy, turned six and she chose to have a Little Red Riding Hood Party. It was a very fun but very hot afternoon in the backyard.
Decor: The theme was an easy one to work with — unisex and lots of creative options. I used red, green and white as the main colours to tie it all in. The dessert table was given a bit of a woodland feel with the backdrop, topiary trees and burlap ruffle tablecloth. The rag bunting was easy to make with fabric strips tied to twine.
Food & Dessert: Ivy loved the chocolate cake I made, especially the peeping grandmother! Other things on the dessert table included toffee apples, little jars of candy, cupcakes with fondant toppers, chocolate and cookies. For savoury food we had a variety of things on offer including a manned hot dog stand.
Party Favours/Activities: We gave an assortment of things (the Little Red Riding Hood finger puppets were a hit) packaged in cute berry baskets. For entertainment I made an apple pinata filled with sweets and small toys, a jumping castle, tattoos, face painting, pass the parcel (prizes included Little Red Riding Hood books), balloon sculpting and a game where my husband dressed up as the Big Bad Wolf.

What is the dessert that looks like a tart with a strawberry or kiwi on top? Would you be willing to share the recipe? Having my daughter's party in Sept and working on menu now.
