Party Recap

After making it through my first year as a mom of twins, I had to throw a fabulous celebration! My wheels were turning when my babies were only 6 months old since I knew that I had little available time to plan something great. The challenge was trying to find a theme that worked for both Eli and Emi. That's how I came up with Mickey and Minnie. They both love Club House Mickey!! There was slow planning which allowed me to take advantage of sales as well as be creative for the party. The end result, a successful breakfast in the park birthday bash!! Everybody loved all of the details to the party. Check it out!

Party Highlights

  • Best Moment

Everything! The party was such a hit and the kiddos were so good. They had a blast and I know that everyone else did as well.

  • Funniest Moment

The kids diving into their birthday cake. They enjoyed it as much as we did watching them!

  • Most Touching Moment

When we sang happy birthday. We wanted to sing Happy Birthday to them individually. They share everything together so we wanted to give them each their own Birthday song!

  • Best Dressed

The kids of course! They came themed for the party. Little Eli wore the cutest shirt that I got from Etsy.com. It had black suspenders and a mickey tie that matched the center pieces we made. Emi wore a pretty white dress that was outlined in black. She also wore a beautiful Minnie bow with a red strap that I found on Etsy.com as well. They were so adorable!

  • Desserts

Cupcakes and Mickey & Minnie Cake Pops

  • Party Favors

Frisbee labeled with a Mickey sticker that said "Thank You for Coming to Eli and Emi's First Birthday Party", Bubbles, Crayons, Mini Coloring Book, and Mickey & Minnie Stickers

  • Activities / Games

I brought along 3 black and white beach balls and three jump ropes. However, the party was located at a park in between two playgrounds. So, most of the kid were playing at the playgrounds.

  • Budget

I would say that I spent about $200 for the party! I made mostly everything which helped my budget a lot. Not bad for a party for two!

  • What People Ate

Bagels with Cream Cheese, "Minnie" Doughnuts, Fruit, Cereal, Assorted "Minnie" Muffins and Cinnamon Rolls

  • What People Drank

Apple Juice, Orange Juice, Milk, Coffee, and Water

  • We All Have Ears, Say Cheers! The Kiddos Turned One, Now Lets Have Some Fun!!

A successful Birthday in the Park with a Mickey and Minnie theme.

Your Mickey centerpiece is the best I've seen- what did you use for the base? I'm throwing my son a Mickey party in a few months :)

Thanks so much!! We actually used the formula cans and spray painted them red. The yellow on the bottom is just the lid to the can but it went so well with the colors we were using. Inside the cans, we used rocks to keep the weight down, a piece of plant styrofoam (from the Dollar Store) to hold the dowel, and filled the rest of the can with yellow confetti paper. For the mouse ears, we used two different sizes of styrofoam balls and spray painted them black. I had so much fun planning a Mickey and Minnie Mouse birthday. There is so much you can do. Have fun!!
