Party Recap

We are a party stylist located in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia and we are showcasing our client's rustic firefighter themed party!

Held in a neighbourhood fire station, we were tasked to create a dessert table using recyclable materials including corrugated cardboard, burlap material, unfinished wood and newsprint. We also had to incorporate a lot of reds, orange and black to bring out a pop of colour.

A lot of DIY work came into play, we transformed cardboard tubes and paper cups into fire hydrants and we created “flames” standees out of corrugated cardboard as a themed backing for the dessert table.

Instead of a tablecloth over our trestle leg table top, we used a sheet of corrugated cardboard to create somewhat of a table runner, and layered it with trimmings of burlap material to create different textures. Playing with a pop of colour, we sneaked in a teal wooden crate and raised up the birthday cake to bring it all together.

As we were hosting the party literally at the foyer of the station (where they usually park the fire engines), we had to create another space for our buffet line and a drinks station. Again we repeatedly used newsprint and corrugated cardboard to create the shabby chic look and feel, but added a bit of rustic vibes with unfinished wooden crates and red galvanised steel tins for a dramatic feel. An unfinished pinewood lemonade stand was the highlight of the party—we cheekily styled it as a fuelling station for the guests!

Hosting a party at the fire station is great fun, not only the little ones get to learn about fire safety and the gears that the firefighters use, but they also got to ride in the fire engines, with its sirens blaring!
The kids’ party favours included a spray bottle in the shape of a fire extinguisher, which was great fun during the water play session at the end of the party.

For the adults, our client handmade some spa goodies for all the mummies in attendance, as a token of appreciation for coming to the party. Such a sweet and kind gesture!

These are our amazing vendors that have helped bring everything together.
