Christmas Vacation Friends Xmas (2023)

Our circle of friends grows year by year, and this year we were expecting almost 50 friends so we didnt want to try to all fit at a table in a restaurant and not be able to talk to everyone. If that would even be possible! So we rented a room this year for our Annual Friends Christmas Dinner at a local restaurant and had the room till 2 am! It was perfect!! I always love a theme, and since we had the room, I decided to do a dessert table and do a gift exchange so I did a National Lampoons Christmas Vacation theme! Its a movie from our generation, so it was perfect and a huge hit! It was so much fun!

• What People Ate

  We had a family style meal - Salad, Chicken, Beef, Mostaccioli, Mashed Potatoes & Corn

• What People Drank

  Eggnog (of course!), Pop, Water and we had an open Bar.

• Desserts

  I made a bunch of 'theme' desserts. Twix's with Cigar bands for 'Uncle Lewis's Stogies', Pretzels with caramel and chocolate for 'Catherines Turkey Legs', Pill bottles i filled with Coca-Cola Tic-Tacs (which look just like pills!) For the Tylenol. Jello Shots for Aunt Bethany's Lime Jello, Puppy Chow for 'ol Roy Dog food", Mini Assorted jams for the 'Jelly of the Month Club', Clark Bars, The restaurant provided icecream, so i created an ice Cream bar so everyone could add toppings to the vanilla ice cream. And everyone also brought a dessert, so we had lots of cookies and treats!
