Party Recap

Shiver Me Timbers - Cap'n Harris is turning one... is what the invites read to invite the guests to my boy's 1st birthday party.
We stumbled across a local park that has a huge pirate ship themed play equipment and couldn't resist it for the party!
Guests were asked to bring a picnic lunch for a casual party but I made a few pirate themed cookies and cupcakes for fun party food.
Each guest was given a pirate party hat and eye patch on arrival.
To decorate the party I had made some pirate fabric bunting banner to hang from the tree we sat under and also made a Cap't Harris skull flag.
We had visited the party a few days before the party and planned a 'Treasure Hunt' where the kids would go looking for some hidden keys in the park with the help of a treasure map I had made. The keys were then one by one tried in the padlock of our 'Treasure Chest' until the lock was opened... to reveal the birthday cake!
The party favors/lolly bags were red and white striped bags with lolly necklaces and rings(pirate loot) and toy telescopes.
I had found online a pirate photo prop and during the party took a photo of each of the guest behind it then used a mosaic collage of all these photos as the thank you note I sent out a week after the party.
