Camden's Under Construction Birthday Party
ByParty Recap
Like most little boys, Camden loves playing with all kinds of construction trucks -- dump trucks, loaders, bulldozers, you name it. So when it came time to plan for his third birthday party, doing a construction theme was a no-brainer.

Party Highlights
-
The Main Attraction
My husband finally put his Mechanical Engineering degree to good use and built this one of a kind bulldozer around the kangaroo climber. The arm actually lifted, the headlights went on and off, and the steering wheel turned. It was a HUGE hit at the party.

DIY Projects
Handmade toolbelts (http://phubie.blogspot.com/2010/08/tool-belt-tutorial.html), personalized hard hats, custom construction signs for the cupcake toppers and decorations, handmade birthday banner

This is too cute! Was it very hard to make? I would like to make it for my son's 3rd birthday as a picture opportunity, if you wouldn't mind giving me some tips on how to make it I would appreciate it. Thanks

Building stuff with cardboard is my husband's department. All I can really tell you is that he used yellow 3-panel display board -- the kind that you use for science fair projects. They can be purchased at Michael's for about $5 per board.
