Party Recap
This was one of my favorite party themes ever! There were so many fun little details and a lot of the decor was cute enough to reuse around the house after the party. It all started when my son asked for a theme that involved a "silly string" activity. That lead me to bug spray which led me to camping! The food was super easy with hamburgers and hotdogs and the camping theme made for for fun outdoor activities!
Party Highlights
-
What People Ate
Typical camping food - hamburgers and hot dogs were the main course with baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad as the sides. We also had fun themed foods like "Campfire flame" cheese curls, "don't feed the bears" Teddy Grahams, Catch of the Day Goldfish and pretzel stick twigs.
-
What People Drank
Lake Water and Pond Punch (green lemonade) served as the main drinks along with Iced Tea. I found a vintage Coleman cooler that was perfect for water.
-
Desserts
The campfire cake was surrounded by marshmallows and topped with a campfire that lit up with candles. S'more sticks, chocolate pretzel matches and pretzel and licorice fishing rods. We also had plenty of gummy worm bait and catch of the day swedish fish to keep with the theme.
-
Party Favors
Each kid got a campfire canvas tote to hold all of their goodies including a mini-flashlight and gummy worm tackle box. There was also a trail mix bar for both kids and adults as well as a Photo Booth that everyone could print on the spot to take a photo favor home.
-
Activities / Games
In addition to the Photo Booth there was a scavenger hunt around the yard, bug hunt with silly string, kiddie pool fishing, backyard tic tac toe, bobber piñata and of course s'mores by the campfire. We ended the night with a movie under the stars.
