Party Recap
My daughter LOVES elephants, so it was only necessary that we have an elephant themed party for her this year. With the party being held during the summer I wanted to go with fun summer colors that have refreshing food names. Orange, Lime Green, and Raspberry Pink. I made her an extra special cake, a gift box with an elephant peeking out of the top, holding a number 4 candle and looking at the flame. She loved it! The bunting was a elephant parade. Each elephant holding the tail of the next. I found a clip art of a simple elephant outline and printed it onto scrapbook paper. I cutout (by hand) each elephant and held them together using matching brads. Her dessert table consisted of her cake, cupcakes (white cake, strawberry frosting and orange fondant elephants), mini caramel apples, elephant shaped cookies, jelly beans (tangerine, lime, and cottoncandy which I thought were raspberry when I bought them), rock candy, and rice crispy treats with an a piped on top. The separators that the cupcakes and cookies are on, are simply square cake dummies that I had on hand and painted them orange. For party favors I got those old fashioned orange marshmallow peanuts, put them in clear plastic boxes, and placed stickers on the front that matched her party invitations (from Tiny Prints). Since it was a evening summer party we also spent time outside so I hung matching paper lanterns from our arbor and Christmas lights to light it up. The dessert table was originally supposed to be set up under the arbor, but it ended up being 104 degrees outside and the treats would have been melty and sticky! Enjoy!
