Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

The guests enjoyed feasting on different foods inspired by The Very Hungry Caterpillar book. There was a fruit platter with the fruits from the story as well as other foods from the book such as swiss cheese and salami. We also provided a sausage sizzle for lunch.

  • What People Drank

We had personalised bottles of water for the guests, along with green cordial and apple juice. We also provided cans of soft drink for the adults.

  • Desserts

At the desert table we had my son's birthday cake as the main display. We also had Very Hungry Caterpillar jelly cups, Cupcake cones with vanilla frosting, a chocolate fondue fountain with strawberries and marshmallows, along with some different lollies for the guests to enjoy.

  • Party Favors

The children were each given a Very Hungry Caterpillar take home bag. They included a couple of crayons and colouring sheets, balloons, bubbles, and a playdough kit (red and green playdough, googly eyes and pipe cleaners) that the children could use to make their own Very Hungry Caterpillar.

  • Activities / Games

We had mats laid out in the backyard for the children to play on as most of them were 1 or under. We put put some of my son's toys including his Very Hungry Caterpillar collection of stuffed animals, pillow pets, etc. We also made some red and green coloured rice that we set up in my son's old baby bath. We put in some sand toys for the children to explore the rice with. We also borrowed a friend's mini jumping castle that we set up for the day.
