A British Classic: Paddington Bear Party
ByParty Recap
All good parties start with an inspired invitation, so I set out to design a train-ticket to lead the guests to Paddington Station. Influenced by vintage ticket stubs, the month and date of the party were indicated by hole-punching the bottom of the invitation.
The British classic- fish ‘n chips- was on the menu, as well as lots of sweets and my own little spin on orange marmalade.
I was surprised by how much the simple pennant and suitcase banner tied the theme together but, if I had to choose a favorite element of the party decor, it would have to be the large “Welcome” sign that overlooked the food table. Behind the printed greeting is a faint outline of a compass- a subtle nod to Paddington’s world-traveling ways.
