Party Recap
My daughter Sophia loves Art! So for her fifth birthday she really wanted an "art party". I loved her idea and added a little twist since her birthday is only two days before Cinco de Mayo.
Sophia's fifth birthday fiesta celebrated her beautiful, creative, and colorful personality perfectly! Decorations were entirely made by hand (either mine or purchased from mexican vendors). It was especially fun shopping for vintage embroidered linens used as tablecloths. My friend made the most amazing Frida Kahlo inspired dress cookies! There were also books on Frida and a fun Frida style necklace and bracelet craft for the kids. I made Sophia a Frida Kahlo inspired headpiece as well. Friends and family enjoyed traditional mexican treats such as pan dulce, mexican candy, mexican sodas, agua frescas, churros and of course authentic tacos, beans, rice, chips and guacamole from the "taco Man". To entertain our guests we found a really fantastic face painter and local Art instructor who gave an art lesson to the kiddies right in our backyard! It was a very happy day as we celebrated Cinco De Sophia!
