Equipment

  • 1 Microwave
  • 1 Parchment paper

Ingredients

Key Ingredients

  • 20 pretzel rods
  • 1 cup white candy melts
  • ¼ cup Sprinkles In any variety
  • ¼ cup Mini pink sprinkle hearts
  • ¼ cup Large red heart sprinkles
  • ¼ cup Mini white nonpareils
  • ¼ tsp coconut oil

Instructions

  • Melt the white candy melts in a small bowl with ¼ teaspoon coconut oil in 30 second intervals, mixing with each interval.
  • Once you have a smooth consistency and all the candy has melted, you can start dipping your pretzel rods.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Dip each pretzel rod, one at a time into the white candy melts. Use a spoon to scoop the melted chocolate over the pretzel. Gently tap the pretzel at the bottom of the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  • Place the pretzels on the parchment lined baking sheet. If adding sprinkles around the entire pretzel, do this before setting it down.
  • To add pink and red chocolate drizzle, melt a small amount of red  and pink candy melts. Pour the melts into a Ziploc baggie and cut on the tip. Let the white chocolate chill before adding the pink and red drizzle. Squeeze the tip of Ziploc baggie to make lines across pretzel rods. Immediately add sprinkles.
  • Place pretzel rods in fridge to set.
  • Wrap these pretty chocolate dipped pretzel rods with ribbon in a cellophane bags and give the gift of love, from your kitchen of course!

Notes

  • Make sure not to add too much oil to the melts, it gives the candy a waxy texture.
  • You will get a smoother texture and better flavor if you use high quality white chocolate instead of candy melts.
  • White chocolate can be prone to burning, so be sure to melt it slowly using intervals in the microwave.
  • Choose any sprinkles you like to decorate such as nonpareils, jimmies, or sugar crystals, to add different colors and textures to your pretzels.
  • Consider using different shaped pretzels in addition to pretzel rods: try traditional twists, but also consider using pretzel nuggets or mini pretzels.
