Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • ½ sweet onion chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 egg beaten
  • ¾ cup breadcrumbs
  • ¼ cup crushed pineapple
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • Barbecue sauce
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350℉.
  • Toss onion and garlic with 1-2 teaspoons olive oil. Saute in a pan until onions are translucent. Combine ground turkey, onions, garlic, egg, bread crumbs, pineapple, salt and pepper.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a tablespoon, scoop the meatballs and roll them into small balls.
  • Place meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes until golden.
  • Place cooked meatballs in a bowl and toss in barbecue sauce. Keep meatballs warm in a small crock pot on low.
  • Serve each meatball on a platter with toothpicks!

Notes

I like to use a potato masher to combine the meat mixture, but you can also use your hands since you are going to be forming them into meatballs!
Try making these ahead and freezing. Then simply load them in a crockpot with barbecue sauce.
