Baked Apple Cinnamon Donut Holes

As we move into fall, how delicious and warming do these baked apple cinnamon donut holes look! I just love anything dusted in cinnamon sugar!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin spice
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup salted butter melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon or pumpkin spice

Instructions

  • Combine flour, baking powder and pumpkin spice in a medium bowl. Set aside. In a small bowl mix applesauce, brown sugar egg, milk, vanilla and butter until combined. Add the applesauce mixture to the flour mixture, mix well.
  • Using a tablespoon, scoop the batter into a greased mini muffin pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 minutes. Cool slightly and remove from muffin pan.
  • Roll the donut holes in melted butter and then the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  • Store in the fridge in an airtight container.

Notes

For a nice touch, reheat these before serving.
