Chain is made from a base of sterling silver that is coated in a thin layer of rhodium.
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver containing 92.5% by weight of silver and 7.5% by weight of other metals. The added metals in sterling silver make it an incredibly durable material — it's even stronger than gold.
The rhodium plating is an electroplating process which gives the sterling silver its ultra white colour by placing a coating over the existing metal.
Jewelry plated in rhodium is shinier and more durable than other metals. Rhodium plating does not scratch, dent, or corrode and retains its luster.
Rhodium is nickel-free, non-toxic and completely safe.
