Pair of vintage mid century clip on earrings-large ruby red cabochons embedded in brass tone setting

Stunning pair of mid century clip back earrings feature large red circles...probably some sort of plastic but very shiny. Round red half spheres are set in a brass tone setting that has a delicate scalloping design. Please see photos for details.

I am not sure what material these red "stones" are but they appear to be a vintage plastic.

In lovely condition.
