This delicious cake is made with a rich sweet yeast dough filled with a butter, cinnamon and pecans baked fresh to order, carefully packaged for its journey to you. Mardi Gras, or "Fat Tuesday," is the last day of the Carnival season as it always falls the day before Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent or in 2023 on Tuesday, February 21st.
Each order for this Mardi Gras King Cake includes a tiny baby wrapped separately which you insert into the bottom of the cake just before serving. The tradition of King Cake Parties have evolved over time, and the "lucky" person who receives the slice of cake with the baby is asked to continue the festivities by having the next King Cake party (or at least purchasing the next cake for the office.)
