-------------------------------------------------

This Gothic, Victorian Junk Journal has been designed to look like Dr. Jekyll's Laboratory Notebook. I have included plenty of Ephemera to make it your own.

The page dividers have been designed to be pockets! Perfect for storing pictures, mementoes or small notes. But you don't have to make them pockets if you don't wish.

You can choose to make this journal a progression of Dr. Jekyll's descent into madness or a journal full of his ideas, formulas and laboratory notes. If you prefer just to have a victorian gentleman's journal there's plenty included to make it look that way too!

This book can be bound using a variety of methods. I have allowed a section on each page to be left clear for binding purposes. I have included binding instructions in my tutorial, but you can also punch holes and sew together the signatures if you prefer...or use coptic stitch and omit the spine if you like.

DESIGN TEAM IDEAS
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

My clever design team has come up with several variations and different looks for this kit as you can see in the pictures above. For a flip through of Jean's book please look on her youtube channel here:

https://youtu.be/eGnYzq4hKxA

A word on our DT ideas:

Jean very cleverly printed her cover on printable fabric sheets, added a book belt, turned some of her ephemera into booklets and dyed her own papers to look rusted and old!

Rebecca turned some of her ephemera into flaps, added a lot of cool additional ephemera that she either had or found online and added metal corners to her cover.

Pam used photoshop to manipulate some of the ephemera to superimpose Mr. Hyde's face on Dr. Jekylls, plus she made her journal a progression of Dr.Jekyll's transformation from mild mannered doctor to madman! Her final journal pages are Mr. Hyde at his finest with blood and gore everywhere. Pam also splashed her journal and cover here and there with Dr. Jekyll's green potion!

Ellie Wilder used inked hand and finger prints to represent Mr. Hyde! She also attached a sentence to her back cover that says "I am here. H" Which is fantastic! Ellie showed the stitching in her page assembly which I love! And she bound the book using eyelets and leather cord for an amazing variation on the binding.

Tracey Thompson printed out a periodic table she found online which looks amazing! She used red handprints and actual Jekyll and Hyde quotes to make it her own. Tracey used lace and brads to hold in her ephemera and used stamps to add her unique feel. She also used binding tape to bind the book which looks awesome!

These are only some of the suggestions our DT came up with, how you use the kit is up to you! The variations are endless!
