Lewis Machine and Tool Use Remove the blade from the machine. This is done by loosening the screws on either side of the blade grip and Pulling it out. Replace with a new blade if needed and tighten screws. Plug in the machine and press the start button to begin. Make sure you have the blade at about 1" in from the edge and make an indention on both sides of your circle. Drop into the frame, ensuring it's flush if possible. Tighten the screw to ensure no movement between the barrel and front sight post once installed; this ensures an accurate aim point as well as zero so that wind will not affect accuracy.
