I always started planning my own birthday party two months in advance since I knew what a birthday was. My sister and I grew up with some awesome birthday parties because we have a very creative mom. Ever since I got went crazy with crafts for my husband's and my wedding, I have been interested in throwing fun and aesthetically pretty for my family (and myself).
