Selected as Party of the Day on January 31st!
Mila's 1st Candyland
Designing Mila's candy table, I knew it had to be perfect and whimsical at the same time. When discussing the table with mom (Beatriz) She had a vision for this table and I had to play off this!
There was going to be plenty of kids at this party so making sure this table was kid friendly was a must. There was plenty of candy to go around, and boy did it all look tasty.
Visually I needed to design something that was engaging to this audience. I was able to do this by using this bright color scheme. I found the most perfect flowers that were bright and colorful and some of them were even speckled with rainbow colors, it was as if they were made just for this day.
There were plenty of handmade details in this table set up, such as stripped fabric backdrop. I created a one of a kind oversize wrapped candy garland which was a whimsical and a key feature for this table design. I made extra, large over sized wrapped candy that I implemented through out the table. Mila's mom hand crafted the streamer backdrop and the "Mila's Candy land" banner. It was such a great Idea to feature pictures from every month of Mila's life. I just love when parents are hands on with D.I.Y. projects, it makes the party that much more special!
This cake was made specifically for Mila and fit in perfectly with the overall design. The Onesie and Bloomers were custom made by Mila's Aunt Liz, who could not be there at the party, but sent her love from Georgia in the form of a great designed onesie & bloomers! I can't get over the bloomers!
