Michelle's Beeautiful Baby Shower

What a Bee-autiful day to celebrate Ba-Bee Adeline! A team of 4 crafty ladies (friends) came together and put their Martha Stewart like minds and hands together to style this Pink and Purple Bumble Bee inspired Ba-Bee shower.

STATIONERY/DECOR:
This collection consisted of an invitation, circle favor bag labels, circle candy jar labels, straw name flags, station signs, liter soda bottle labels and a "gifts" banner. The main centerpiece was made out of molding (painted white), fake grass, flowers, ribbon, bumble bees and white letters spelling out "Adeline", which was then used later in the nursery. Vases were filled with yellow aqua balls, pink and purple spiral wires, pink and purple flowers and wooden bumble bees. The tables were covered with yellow table clothes and topped with handmade black and white fabric polka dot runners. Yellow and black tissue pom-poms were hung in the trees along with bumble bee clothing clothes lines. We searched all over Sacramento to find every bumble bee clothing item we could find! We even decorated the Mother-To-Bee's chair with a bumble bee dress - turned chair cover...stinger and all :)

A hand made "Welcome Adeline" cloth banner made by Hula Monkey Designs hung behind the drink table (again was used later in the nursery) and a streamer/ribbon backdrop adorned with baby pictures of the mother and father-to-be and their maternity session pictures were clipped to the streamers/ribbon with flower and bumble bee clothes pins.

FOOD/DRINKS:
A salad bar, that put Fresh Choice to shame, was served to the guests along with fruit kabobs. Dessert were bumble bee cake pops, banana splits and a candy bar filled with black, white, yellow and pink candy/cookies. Apothecary jars were placed on a handmade candy bar cart my father made for our wedding. Lemonade, Iced Tea and Lemon Water was served in mason jars with yellow and white paper straws that were personalized for each guest with straw name flags.

STATIONS:
A "Decorate a Onesie" station for guests was set up to personalize white onesies for Adeline to wear and as special keepsakes from family and friends. We also set up a station for guests to sign an advice journal for the new parents and a picture frame acting as a guest book.

The winners of the best onesie and a few other games went home with a bumble bee basket filled with none other than Burt's Bee's products.

SPECIAL TOUCHES:
The party wouldn't be complete without a Mini Cooper Bumble Bee! :) Yes...we transformed our friends yellow and black Mini Cooper into a bumble bee with eyes, eyelashes, wings, a stinger and antennas. We parked our "Bee" in the drive way to greet guests as they arrived.
