Party Recap

Farmyard 5th Birthday Party for my daughter Maia.

Maia had been asking for a farm party, since her dads 30th Hoedown in January. So I girlied it up and this is what we came up with!

I have spent weeks... months, planning and thinking about this one. There is such great inspiration on the web, and our garden was starting to come to life after winter, so the back drop was set.

I styled the event, and created the cakes and printables, with help from my family for some of the baking... I'm 7 1/2 months pregnant so some of the logistics were a bit of a struggle. My farm themed cake made it to number 1, on Cake Central, so that was an added bonus.

Maia wore a vintage styled outfit including a gingham dress, frilled apron and bonnet made by Night Owl Crafts. She really looked the part.

The children were entertained with party games, a baby animal farm, pony rides... and pony tricks while they ate... and an unplanned and delightful hay fight at the end of the day.

As well as some sweet treats, the Children took home a small spade and tomato seeds to plant in their gardens. To cover the advertising on the packets I found a lovely poem on the web and personalised the packets. They read: "In the heart of a seed buried deep so deep,
A tiny plant lay fast asleep.
"Wake," said the sunshine and creep to the light."
"Wake," said the voice of the raindrops bright.
The little plant heard and it rose to see,
What the wonderful outside world might be.

I've had wonderful feedback from everyone who attended the party... even the parents. One father said to me: "It's amazing, I feel like I'm on a movie set"... so sweet and rewarding to hear such comments.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. x
