Tangled Up In Fun!
ByParty Recap
My daughter is obsessed with all things Princess!! Her current obsession is of course Rapunzel and Tangled so she sooo wanted a Tangled party..lol!
We decided to have the party at our house and have it outside since a great deal of the movie takes place outside. We used a yellow vinyl tablecloth roll to make Rapunzel hair and strung it from her second story bedroom window down to the front porch. We also weaved in among the trees and in the dining room on the celing. It really worked very well and much much easier that trying to use yarn! We decorated a large tree with christmas twinkle lights and hung various pictures of scenes from the movie by fishing line from the branches. It was really magical and the kids loved walking around and looking at all of the pictures. We tried to incorporate parts of the movie wherever we could. The dining room was decorated to resemble the Snuggly Duggling (The Thug Pub) from the movie. We even attempted to let off a few sky lanterns...beautiful idea...funny story...lol! You will have to visit my blog for all of the detail and funny stories!
Party Highlights
-
Best Dressed
Some of the girls came dressed in princess outifits which was fun!
-
Desserts
We had the donut tower cake and cherry cheescake cupcakes
-
Activities / Games
We had a sidewalk chalk station set up, a game of pin the nose on Flynn Rider. We took a roll of wrapping paper and lined our entire side fence with the white side facing up and let them paint on it..the kids LOVED this! We had the Tangled soundtrack playing outside and the lights on the trees so when it started to get dark they just ran around and played and sang and danced.

Budget
I kept it as low budget as I could..I managed to spend about $125 for everything..I made most everything myself except for the cookies(that was my splurge) and I gathered items from around the house. I borrowed cast iron skillets from friends and hit the dollare store and fabric bins for table coverings and baskets etc.

Party Favors
Each child took home a Pascal Cookie favor with a coloring page and purple Kingdom Flag

Best Moment
hmmm..I would have to say watching the kids paint and hang out under the tree when it was dark. The tree was my favorite part. It was so pretty and magical with all of the pictures hanging down. The kids all sat under it while they ate.

What People Ate
We served donut tower cake with donut bites on toothpicks, blue jello boats, Hazelnut Soup(potato soup), french bread with honey butter, Rapunzel Fruit Towers, Apples for Maximus and Cherry Cheescake Cupcakes. We served several of the items in cast iron skillets since the cast iron skillet plays such a big role in the movie..lol.
-
What People Drank
We made a Magical Flower Punch using a traditional golden wedding punch recipe
-
Most Touching Moment
At the end of the party when my daughter hugged my legs and said "this was the best party EVER!" :)
-
Funniest Moment
Trying to release the lanterns..in a neighborhood. We were slightly paranoid of catching something on fire so we tried to tether them and that did NOT work...lol. We though one was tethered and it had come off the string and the other one almost got stock in a power line...eeeek.! The kids were all chanting "Don't hit the power line...don't hit the power line" and the adults were yelling "Just let go to the string....just let go"...lol.

Is this just orange juice or does it have sprite or sparkling element to make it different?
