Party Recap

What a pleasure and a privilege it was to create a styled shoot for the recent edition of ‘Celebrating Little Ones’ the online magazine by Life’s Little Celebrations. I presented five different themes to Tanya Castellino who is the woman who heads up the incredible organisation that is Life’s Little Celebrations. Tanya loved my ‘lemonade and sunshine’ concept.

If you, like me, yearn for those warmer days, know they are on the way. What comes after winter? Spring! I tell you that spring is in the air with our ‘lemonade and sunshine’ theme. Picture the prettiest colour palette, of hello bright yellow, a splash of pink and a hint of mint. It’s definitely got a vintage vibe incorporating classic creations with some handmade bunting, fabulous retro pinwheels, and classic pink and yellow party hats with pom poms.

Party Highlights

  • What People Ate

Catie from Sweetly Baked Perth provided the most divine lemon cupcakes with a surprise! Vanilla dream cupcakes filled with lemon curd – they were exceptional! All topped off with traditional cupcake icing, sprinkles and a lemon slice. The sunshine sugar cookies were the sweetest and bought everyone a smile!

  • What People Drank

‘The little lemonade stand’ looks quite at home nestled amongst our lovely lemon trees. This is easily my most favourite piece of furniture. We feature it at many of our events. My husband, Anthony created it a couple of years ago for a fundraising event our family held. I love the concept of the lemonade stand, it’s iconic of a youthful summertime, bringing the community together to have fun in the sun enjoying freshly squeezed traditional lemonade.

  • Desserts

Candice from Sweet as Candi took inspiration from one of her favourites Yolanda Gampp and created this exceptional cake. Layers upon layers of strawberry flavoured butter cake and vanilla bean buttercream stood tall, topped off with delicious raspberries and vanilla wafer biscuits. I am so in love with the combination of the colours and the flavours! It was the perfect cake for a retro-inspired lemonade and sunshine party!

  • Party Favors

Ruba from Ruby Chocolate Designs designed these exquisite chocolates especially for the event. The limited edition milk chocolate with a hint of lemon was enjoyed by all the little party guests! I especially admired the design featuring a vintage lemon image on fresh white premium paper.

  • Activities / Games

Nothing says vintage more than a pair of speedsters parked outside ‘the little lemonade stand’. Kim from Perth Toy Hire sure does know what kids love, and recently added these speedsters to their already fabulous selection of toys! Octavia and Sam had loads of fun racing about the garden!

Party Helpers

  • Jasmin from Epic Installs

    Backdrop

What a delight it was to gather the best of the best in the party industry to create a beautiful party as part of the latest Life’s Little Celebrations online magazine, ‘Celebrating Little Ones’.

I had the great pleasure of being one of the very first to experience Epic Installs hanging installations. I loved the burst of colour, texture and movement it brought to the party!

  • Ali from Stylish Soirees Perth

    Balloons

Beautiful Ali from Stylish Soirees Perth created a truly amazing balloon installation of pastel pink, yellow and mint aswell as silver balloons that glistened in the sunlight! I love how it cascades down from the elevated cubby. It definitely set the scene of the prettiest retro play date!

  • Ela from Ela Amzucu

    Photographer

Ela Amzucu is incredibly gifted at capturing people, in particular children. Ela focuses on their natural beauty and makes them shine! Ela captured our beautiful models Delaney, Jessica, Octavia and Sam so well , Ela even captured my camera-shy son Matthew. Ela brought my vision to life – I am so impressed and grateful.

  • Leanne from dream a little dream

    Props

One of the highlights of creating this shoot was to meet and work with Leanne from Dream a little Dream. I have admired her work for years. So as you can imagine I was pretty excited to collaborate with her. Leanne bought a wealth of knowledge and experience and was also kind to lend me the gorgeous pink table for the desserts, cake stands, and this antique cash register that all the little party guests had fun playing with.

  • Jennifer and Daniel from Foote & Flame

    Signage

Daniel and Jennifer from Foote and Flame are the creative masterminds that created this ‘you are my sunshine’ cake topper and the significant sign greeting the sun that hung from the verandah from the cubby. I admire the finer details of their craftsmanship, beautiful lemonade drink stirrers, that came in three different colours because lets face it a creative stylist can never decide until the last minute.

  • Meri from August Celebrate

    Graphic Designer

Meri from August Eight Celebrate is a talented designer who took my vision and brought it to life with this ever so sweet retro inspired design. Meri created this stylish invitation, along with welcome signage, and even a menu with price tags to match.

  • Shelley from Favor Lane Party Boutique

    Tableware

Talk to any event stylist and they will always have a favourite aspect of a party to style. Mine is the table setting. I believe a well styled table sets the scene and creates an atmosphere that will make your guests feel relaxed, happy and welcome.

I like working with the best in the industry and have had the great pleasure of involving Favorlane Party Boutique in every one of my parties! Shelley will go above and beyond to ensure you have your table – right through to every part of your party, styled to perfection.

When styling this table setting I couldn’t go past Oh Happy Day’s mint and blush round plates. I’m sure you would agree the silver cutlery is absolutely stunning – I chose it as I believe it brought a touch of elegance to the table. The use of place cards will always bring a slight sense of formality to the overall setting – I made it fun by organising for our little guests’ names to be printed on a lemon shaped card and placed it in a pink nest.

The flowers brought a pop of yellow – the cute lemon placecards and bottle wraps definitely brought the fun factor! I added some homemade classic party hats with pom poms and retro pinwheels to hit the retro vibe! And the result was a beautiful set table.

  • Chloe from Sienna & I

    Fashion Designer

How beautiful do our models, Delaney, Jessica, Matthew, Octavia and Sam look in their custom made outfits? So beautiful! Chloe from Sienna and I made the floral sundress for the girls and removable suspender shorts with sky blue shirts especially for the event. I was so impressed with the quality of her work.

  • Jasmin from Market Fresh & co

    Florist

Straight from the garden to the table. These florals created by none other than Jasmin from Market Fresh & Co are simplicity at its best. I love that Jasmin chose to pop the bright yellow florals into little milk bottles which hit the retro look I was aiming for.

  • Belinda from Allegra & Grace, Vanessa from Perth Highchair hire

    Chairs

Allegra and Grace pink cross back chairs brought vintage elegance and a rustic touch of character to our event. We were so pleased as it really suited the desired look, and I especially loved the pop of pink at the table. We loved them so much we featured them within the cubby too!

A retro inspired play date featuring a baby calls for the best chair in town! Vanessa from Perth Highchair Hire heard my vision and knew her pastel pink highchair ‘Floss’ would be the perfect choice. Little Jessica was so pleased that a gorgeous chair was organised especially for her.
